those made of horsehair, as this is subtly to transparent and glistens in the light, as well. The vision of a girl in a red horse-stout 200 miles to the west of the Bashi Chan- hair hat with a wide brim which casts a red shadow is as charining a one as one could wish. On the other hand, a little chiche of black-horsehair trimmed with thin quils eurled outward is both one. of the smartest and most sober models that the spring has yet brought forth.
A wardrobe, trunk which is both fight and harulsoure is covered with light parcb. meut, is fitted with brass corners and heavy pigskin edges, and insile contains, facing the convenient hangers which are the characteristic of all wardrobe trunks, En set of shallow drawers which allow one to get at one's things easily, and a hat compartment, which allows for the necom- modation of five cloches or two large hats. Hugs imitating dowers or bouquets of Bowres is the latest idea offered by one of the shops that specializes in these matters. One model shows a large rug presenting a bouquet of Bowers rimmed about with leaves which gives a scalloped form to the handlers of the nig. Sumller rugs to accompany this que present a single large flower with leaves jutting out from ip to give an eccentric outline tu the rug Flowers and leaves ure worked in natural colours. These flower mugy look most effective when shown up against a polished floor of neutral tone.

Gauntlet gloves with cuffs more or less faring or ornate are everywhere to be seen, but for single charm as a comple tion to a plain-zuit, Paris shows nothing better than brown doeskin gloves hand sewn with heavy black silk floss in large stitches. The conventional three stripes on the back of the hand are merely in- alicated also by means of band stitchery.
A fan of white eagle's feathers is among the Artest models now being shown. The feathers grade in length from one end of the fan to the other, and the splints are of white, new ivory.
Drop stitch stockings are the smart thing to wear in the morning with the tailored suit.
Round-toes shoes are returning to fashion in Paris. Even the many-strapped sandal shape is now showing round toes, for the Parisienne, who has such astonish" ingly short feet, is rather lad to take advantage of this fact and avoid shoes which have such pointed toes that they nut, perforce, extend much farther that the tout itself.

The latest jewellery ensemble is CAIN- posed of pearl earrings and a pearl set fing. The grayer the pearls the smarter they are considered. Various forms of earrings are chosen. Some women set large round pearls close against the lobes of the ears. Some hung long pear-shaped pearls on a thin-platinum stem so long that the pendant pearls, nearly touch the shoulders.
