On May 21st ten Knights Genud Cross of the Order of the Bath were installed with full ceremonial in the chapel of the Order. King Henry VII's Chapel, in Westminster Abbey. The Sayerṛign of the Order, the King, could not be pre sent; but the Great Master, the Duke of Connaught, headed the ceremony: and in- volving as it dil, the whale of the Abbey. this noble rite, revived by King Geoeged V: in als after the, kapse of a century, ↑ and repeated in his presence in 1920, had a stateliness and splendour, which only a Coronation could exceed.

Preced- ed by the choir and trumpeters, they come in possession round three sides of the Cloisters, enter, the Abbey by the West Cloister door, go down to the west end and then right up the long pay. the Great Master and the Knights to the choir stalls, the Denn and the other clergy to the Presbytery.

A GORGEOUS SIGHT.

A short service of prayers, both general and special to the Order. is then held. and after it the procession of Knights and clergy forms again and goes east- ward, At the top of the Presbytery steps it divides, and, going in two lines through the hors north and south of the altar, passes on either side of the shrine of the Confessor and over a temporary bridge that crosses the ambulatory and lends to, the great gates of King Henry VIUs Chapel. And there, at and before the little altar over the tomb of King Henry Van alta? once again beautiful with its Renaissance carvings rescued and reassembled same half-century ago after being scattered by the "shipwreck of Kings in 1633-the ancient, vows are taken as the ancient offerings are
