THE SEASON (OPENED.

The Hongkong Lawn Bowls season opened on Saturday after several post. ponements. It should have commenced on. Saturday, May 31st, hat owing to the death of the President of the Association (the late Hon. Mr. A. I. Lowey all matches were cancelled ja a token of respect. On the following Saturday the grounds were too wet for play.

This year a second division, has been formed and there are several new teams competing, notably the Royal Hongkong Yacht Club and the Indian Recreation Club, both of which have entered for the Second Division. Taikoo, Kowloon Cric- ket Club, etc. have entered teams for

the Second Division.

In the Hongkong Baseball League competition un Saturday afternoon, the Hongkong team met the Club de Recreio in beautiful weather.

The game was a fast and exciting one throughout, the issue being in douht up to the last minute.
