By notching full points from the HE.C.C. on Saturday at Happy Valley, the Navy second string have gone a step, further towards making the second league championship safe for themselves. They have atill two matches to play, the one next week against the Indians at Soo- kuupoo which should be the deciding factor, and in which the Navy will have to go all out to win. At present the Royal Engineers head the table with 38 points. They have complèted their fixtures, The Navy have 34 points to their credit and have to win both matches to win the league contest. On Saturday the Navy won by 94 runs, their store being 195 for seven (declared) as against the H.K.C.C. 101 all out. Scorea.

One of the most interesting shoots, of." the Season took place yesterday at Stonecutters when the Hongkong Volun teer Corps met and defeated the H.M.S. Tamar The position was made interest- ing by the fact that if the Tanar men had been successful it would have meant

triangular match for the league championship between the Tumar, the Despatch and the Volunteers, nu frem the results of the previous shoots it seem- ed probable that the Tamar would win but such was not the case, the Volunteers securing the victory by 48 points after allowing six per cent, for open sights. The weather was fine, but from the marks. man's point of view it was far from good, a hazy atmosphere and a strong breeza' making shooting at the 500 and 600 yarda targets very trying for the older shots.
