Ou Sunday the Synod service was held in the Church of Our Saviour. Bishop Graves of Shanghai celebrated and Bishop Norris of Peking preached the Synod Semmon. Besides the members of the Synod there was also a large Chinese congregation.

Dr. Hawkes Pott of St. John's Univer sity, Shanghai, was agnia unanimously re-elected as Chairman with Mr. Francis Wej of lankow as Vice-Chairman. The Rev. S. H. Littell was reelected as Secre- tary. The number of representatives attending at Canton falls short of the full number, owing to the great distances some of those elected have to travel and the difficulty of learing their work, and also because of the unsettled state of China which has made it impossible for any representative to come from Sze: The other ten dioceses are all represented. In the Lower House there are visitors from Japan, Singapore, Labuan and Sarawak and Manila who come to represent the oversea Chinese.
