The figures for Hyde Park Corner show that on an average nearly 73 vehicles passed every minute during the twelve hours..

At the Mansion House, at Piccadilly (St. James'), Oxford Circus, And Sloans, street the figures are in each case over 31,000, while at the Angel, at Talington, and Hammersmith Broadway the number of vehicles stands at over 20,000,

When tyres are under inflated there is continual internal friction between the foundation cord and the rubber, causing overheating of the tyre and consequent rapid deterioration.

Water can also enter causing rust, resulting eventually in the rims having sharp edges which cut the walls of the tyre near the head.
