Playing on the Clab ground. the H.E.C.C. defeated the C.8.0.0. in

The home Brst league fixture by 4 rnds. Bide, batting first, scored 124 which was a much better score than it appears to be on paper as the wicket was very difficult for the batsmen. There was nothing out standing in the score excepting two very useful compilations by G. R. More and H. Owen Hughes. The CS.C.C. replied with 33, B. D.. Evaus putting up a fine stand and compiling nearly half of this total, Of the boilers, R. E. A. Webster, for Hongkong, had the best average with four wickets for 13, whilst the Rev. T. W. Powell helped things conderably by tak ing three, wickets for 1G. For the c.s.c.C., E. W. Hamilton and R. E. O Bird secured most of the wickets, the latter obtaining three of the first four wickets that fell.

J.R.C. E. THE EXIVERSITY,

This league fixture was played at Sookumpo and was won by the visitors after a very keen struggle. Winsing the toss the University sent in the Indians first who were all out for 100. A. H. Rumjaha and A... H. Madar were sent in first to face the bowling. The Indians opened badly and two wickets were down for 25. Madar was taking no chances and took considerably over an hour to compile: his 26 before having the misfortune to be run out. The only other two batsmen to get into double figures were 0. Ismail| and J. S. A. Curreen. The fielding and bowling of the University were very sound. By very smart felding no fewer than three of the Indian batsmen were run out. The University replied with 133 for eight wickets, A. A. Rumjahn, first min, compiled half a century. Ho then retired undefeated. He gave ona slight chance in an otherwise faultless innings.
