There is, in addition to this, a tendency to misuse words to give to the values that they do not command. To what influence are we to trace the violations done to word values nowadays? Is it due to the "contempt for classic leaming that has manifested itself during the past twenty years? Or is it because the world of letters has been-overrun by hordes born to nse the shovel rather than the pen ?
