Captain Turner is so popular, how ever, that he was not permitted to give a small parts: the entertainment as the arrangements came to be made grew into an important function, no fewer than adventy being present. The gangway was arched with flags, and strings of colcured lights. The s.5. Honam must have been seen.ia festive garb more than once during her long career but the decorations of the other night could hardly have been zurpassed. A spirit of good-fellowship and conviviality pervaded the old craft on the occasion.

Captain Turner, in the course of the evening, proposed the health of his guests coupling with the toast the names of Capt. M. Carea (the Harbour Master) and Mrs. Corca. He expressed the hope. that those present had enjoyed the repast and would regard the occasion as a little effort on his part to cement those happy relations which had always existed be tween Hongkong and Macao. Captain Tarner made a mach appreciated refer ence to the work of the Maeno clergy who were represented at the dinner by the
