SIX-ROUND MIDDLEWERY CONTEST. Stoker P. O. Young (152 Ba.), H.Ms Ditude, v. L-Col Drennan (196 s.), King's Regt. Both these men met at the Inst tournament when the decision was given in favour of the Stober. The bout opened with both men being keen but Drennnu, whilst he has a dangerous right, let himself in for a lot of unnecessary punishment by neglecting his guard. In the second round the Corporal got the measure of his man and had him groggy the goug saving him. Young was still in a dazed condition when the third round commenced but Drennan. although he attacked freely at the commencement, could got get in his low. He became little wild in his deliveries and towards the end of this round Young had made a good recovery. Drennan was also in clined to fight with the open glove and in the fifth round was warned about it. I the last round Young was, if anything the better man of the two and he won on points. The decision was not a popular one, there being a lot of "boring" from the spectators.
