SATURDAY'S RACING.

The first championship event for racing yachts was sailed on Saturday over a course round Lyenan Beacon (S), Cust Rock Buoy (8), Mark Boat in Quarry Bay (P) and Chaunel Rocks (P.), the “distance being miles. There was true light breeze from East South East at the start which died away almost to calm as the evening wore on, causing several yachts to finish in the dark. The Gael class started at 130 p.m. but no boat of this class reached home within the time limit 6.00 pm., the Mre Sing crossing the line at 8.09.03. The other results are as follows:--

The second-half was very slow and a poor display of the game was given.
