EDINBURGH CASTLE AND THE NATIONAL WAR MEMORIAL.

KEMOVAL OF THE HARRISON,

[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.}

Enseño, May 9th

For the first time in modern history Edinburgh Castle is to he left without Karrison. When Bedford Barracks were co stractel some years ago it was understal that for military purposes the barracks wend take the bar of the Castle as the In garrison. In to whiespread ontinent, however, it was arranged that at least a company of the battalion forming the garrison for the time being wont be quartered in the Castle But this is now to be discontinue, and, to the great regret of nimy Scots, only lalf- a-dozen men ar sus for sentry daty will go prise the garrison.
