GRIM JOKE'S TRAGIC
CONSEQUENCES.
A message from Paris says that a Sene galess soldier ran amok with a knife in Marseilloa. He killed three and wounded 10 of his comraden before he was over. powered. The occurrence was due to a grim practical joke played in dormitory of the barracks where the coloured troops wom housed, The Senegalese soldier was aged 32, and only arrived five days before from Afrien. Some comrades told him that he was going to be shot. This proy ed on the man'a mind, He slept little and was wakened by terrible nightmares. When the bugle sounded the revoille on Sunday he arted himself with a knife, sprang at his comrades, and cut their throats. Three were killed in a few seconds and others were wounded before the Senegalese was overpowered.
