Just about this time, unfortunately, the gallant Swatow Captain, in A Praiseworthy attempt to lay out ir centre forward. Having gone home to breakfast, Raworth returned in the Club with his Tennis Team, which consisted of such well-known Davis Cup stars as Paffard. Mitchell aud Macgown. There was some excellent play and many double faults were registered, Eventually the sgures were games all, with Mitchell and Megown faking Dickin 'Sou and Howard with 2 games to play. The profita för ¦ the year are $17,010,7 s than the pre ceding year entwithstanding an increase in trafic reeipts of $122.500, account shows a large inerno, wages of staff having been put up generally to mat the increased cost of living. In addition Mr. Buyers' passage to England has been charged to this account which for a period uf two months had to bear, the salaries cf both Mr.. Buyers and the new Superin- Maintenance and tendent. Mr. Scott. repairs account is heavier than last year due principally to repairs to boilers and the upper tornions building.
