SINGAPORE AS NAVAL BASE. COMMENTS OF DUTCH NAVAL AUTHORITIES.

Frequently we have discussed in this paper (Soer. Handelsblad) what would be the conarquenes for us if Singapore were made á naval base. Without going into details, we many discuss the most portant points.

To start with, we may take it that whenever we are involved in a conflict, Britain will also participate, because it is absolusly out of the question that this Empire, with its tremendous interests in this part of the world, would remaia neutral. Corisequently she will be either on our side or against us. Happily the fir L clse is more probable, but "for completeness sako the second possibility should not be neglected.
