La three-piece costume continues to be one of the most popular styles yet evolved for the busy woman who has not much tine at her disposal in which to fuss over her clothes, as well as for the woman who always aims at combining neatness with economy when her wardrobe is in ques tion ... for does not a smart three- piece suit successfully take the place of a coat and skirt with the inevitable blouse or jumper, as well as of that of a visiting or house dress, according to the material of which it made and the trimming. with which it in relieved

The skirts of these costumes reach to the ankle, and they are much faller than they have, been of late; bodices are, for the most part, simple in cut and plain in the matter of trimming. Crepe Marocain de laine is an excellent imitation of the silk variety, with the added advantage, ner haps of having more "body" in it. It is admirably suited for light costs and tailor-mades. two such indispensable gar- ments for the carly Spring wear, when even sunny days have a sharp tang of Winter, about them. These materials are also excelent for making up into imple morning or house frocks.

Stripes and checks will be put on the market once more, but it is more likely that plain materials will be generally popular and that stripedt and checked, aces will be worn only for sports wear or for rough travelling wear.

Of the new fancy silk materials, foulard appears to be what will be worn most during the Spring. Just now it is being used extensively in conjunction with Berge, gabardine and cloth, both as a trimming and as a lining. New designs," however, seem to have given it, with new aspect. a fresh run of popularity.
