Dealing with the question of prevention, the Committee recommanded:--

*TRAINING.

Every possible means should be taken; to promote moral, esprit de corps, and a high standard of discipline.

Training should be sufficiently prolong ed to ensure that the soldier is not only physically it and efficient, but also that be has had time to acquire such a stand- ard of moral as will enable him to put the welfare of his unit before his own personal safety. ..

Special instruction should be given so Royal Army Medical Corps officers in phycho-neurosis and psychoses as they occur in war, and selected officers should be encouraged to specialize in the study of these disorders.
