Is there a third" sex! Prof, Julian S. Huxley, et Now College, Oxford, thinks that there may be, and that the possibility is of the first importance.

In n lecture to the Royal Society of Arts ou the Determination of Sex," he said:" It is not only pericctly possible, but even probable that wal-adjusted sex factors may exist in man us in moths,

Several Fesults follow, the first the distinct possibility that cases of sexual perversion may be cured by injection or grafting. I believe this is being tested in Germany,

The second is legal. It is highly probable that human internetes are neither mala nor female, but definitely intermediate. If so, then it must be wrong to assign a normal. sex to them, for they belong to a third cate gory. If it pures that this category is Giologically a real one, as certainly is the ase with motis, then the law should recognise it. The thinl is ethical. We are accustomed to visit departures from sexual morality with legal peualty and moral cen sure, If, as soets highly probable, many of the individuals who thus depart from the normal are not momlly perverted, but simply in the grip of blind hereditary forces of whose results alone, they are aware, then it is clear that a new standard is needed with which to measure whole matter.
