Metal tissues in pale shades, also, are worn a good deal; and in pink, blue, or green are equally attractive.

Reversible coats and cloaks are popular this season, and not without reason, for. they save both money and space in pack- ing Black satin is used for cleaks with a white or silver lining. This is quite the right thing for afternoon wear, but may appear a little sombre in the even- ing, so by turning the day-cload. inside oat you show its silver lining. Varnished lumé brocade is a new invention, and ar a lining it has already achieved remark- able success. This is excellent for one side of a reversible cloak carried out in scarlet and gold reversed with cream. More sombre affairs in the matter of katin and crêpe Marocain, finely embroidered with gold thread. In bronze, made loose and full, with high racked collar and wide hanging sleeves, it is a delightful affair, and can be worn any hour of the day | or night with success.
