Au imquest was "conslacted at the Magistracy, yesterday afternoon, by the senior hagistrate Mr. J. R. Wood can cerning the death of a young Chinese girl aged 19 years who committed suicide by banging, under allegal provocation. The first witness called was Dr. J. Valentine who said the body was that of a Chinese girl of is years of age. There was a constriction mark round the neck and that death was due to strangulation. There were also seem slight bruises un the right thigh which, he states, might have been caused by anything.
