Our Beottiah correspondent writes:- Messrs. William Denny and Brothers, Wed Dumbarton, have launched, the twin- scrow steamer Ethiopia built to the order of the British India Steam' Navigation The vessel, which is 410 foot in length, will have double reduction tarbinos, steam being supplied by ex gesrod ded boilers, arranged to bura cost or oil. Mr. H. E. Denny mentioned at the luncheon that this was the one hundreth ship that Mesors. Denny had built for the B.I.B.N.O. dur- ing their long connection of 59 years.
The twin screw motor vessel Domala, which completed successful trials recently on the Clyde has left the river and ecoded London to take up her loading pro berth. The vessol is one of the British India Co.'s Mclass with Diesel engirts, was built by Barclay, Curle & Co., Whiteinch, and has Diesel engines.
The British India's twin-scrow steamer Mantola has completed successful trials on the Clyde, and sailed for Middles borough, where she will lead for her first voyage. It is also of the company's Mclass, built and engined by Bar- clay, Curlo & Co, and carries about 200 passengers.
The twin-screw passenger steamer Bal. larat, built to the order of the P. & O by Barlord and Wolff, Greenock, for the branch line service between London and Australia, has been completed and de livered. Accommodation is provided for "about 3,509 miqvengers.
