BRITISH INDIA S.N. CO'S REPORT.

The report of the British India Steam | Navigation Company for the year-ended September 30th Inst states that the proft and loss recount shows a balance aval able for distribution, after providing for depreciation, of £137,079. Provision is made for the payment of the dividend Con-the-preferenée stock, and the directors recommend a dividend of 8 per cent. (tax free) on the shares, of which 4 per cent. interim dividend was paid in May last, absorbing £76,576, leaving £25,497 to be çarried forward.
