No corroboration whatever of any of her statements has at any time been ob- |tained; but,' on the contrary, it may be definitely assorted that her story that she was the means of bringing about the death of Lord Kitchener in wholly untrue. Elbie Boecker was, in fact, sentenced at Maryleboce Folios Court on May 8th, 1915 (no less than four weeks before the Hampshire miled for Bussia, and long before any arrangements had been made for Lord Kitchener's journey), to two months imprisonment and expulsion for having travelled beyond the five-miles limit

imposed on the mövements of alian enemies. She left the country on an ex- pulsion order on June 29th, 1918.

The fact that she was never at larga in this country after May 8th, 1918. effectually disposes of her claims; and statements to the effect that she was or rested on suspicion after the sinking of the vessel and deported on account of her suspected share in the disaster are therefore obvicusly contrary to the fact.
