In the absence of Lord Burnham at the International Labour Conference at Geneva, Mr. Robert Donald presided at the annual meeting of the Empire Press Union, held in London, on October 25th.
The Chairma referred to the efforts of the Union to secure cheaper and better means of communication within the Ear pire for the benefit of the public and the Press. The results of their action bad not yet matured, he said, but they might be sure that the council would not slacken its efforts in promoting reforms. The Imperial Conference laft one important question, to which the Union had devoted much attention in a worse position than before. He referred to wireless. If things remained as they were there would be no Imperial wireless chain. There
