At the summer graduation of Edin burgh University, the hoo. degree of LL.D. was conferred upon Sir Nil Ratan Sircar, MA, M.D., Vice-Chancellor Calentia University.
Dr. William Wallace, who has passed away after a long period of dil-health. brought about by overwork, was one of our best known Scottish journalists, but he was much more than a journalist. in the field of Burns literature he occupied a high position, and was an acknowledged authority on everything pertaining to our national post. writings included a life and an edition of the works of Burns, and he edited the correspondence of Burns and Mrs.
