BHIPS DRIVEN BY ELECTRICITY.

According to an official report on the rosuts of a severe test to which electricity DB notur power has been subjected in America, cargo vessel of 12,000 tois, Etted with an electric drive, has just completed on occan voyage of 20,000 miles. without the slightest hitch.

Her electrical equipment consists of steam turbine and 2,800-volt genera- tor, driving a 3,000 horsepower motor. She is the first of twelve vessels being similarly equipped for the Shipping Board.
