Due to have sailed for the Far East with troops on March 1st, the Govern ment transport Huntspill lay on that date half submerged off Ocean Quay at Southampton Docks. What caused the vessel to sink is not known. Foul play is not suspected... The Huntspill is an old German ship of about" 8,000 tons. Divers: discovered nothing to indicats why the vessel sank.
