There have been many cases recently, says a London journal, in which London hotels have been victimized by, people who take rooms and then unobtrusively depart without paying for them..

The usual method. is for the man or woman to enter the hotel with some kind of suit-case or portmanteau, and demand a room. No deposit is charged to those who bring luggagge with them, and it is not easy for the management to discri minate, as to the quantity of luggage, that a guest should carry about with him. The guest, therefore, obtains his room, and makes himself at home until the time approaches for him to pay his bill.
