The Arst steamer to be requisitioned by the Government at the beginning of the war, the Bibby Line Oxfordshire, has just resumed her regular service. During the war she made 235 voyages and carried" 50.748 wounded and sick.
The N.Y-Kas been planning for its Hamburg liners to call a Dairen, and the new steam, Lima Juri left Dairen outward on the 19th instant, loading bunker col and cargo. The Truuga Maru, from Kobe December 30th, Lisbon Mars outward in the middle of January, and Aito Mars in the middle of February will touch a Dairen on the way to Europe.
The steamer Loyalty, which was bought and run by the Soindia Steam Navigation Company, of Bombay, was the subject of an animated discussion at the first annual meeting of the shareholders of the com pasy. The vessel is being run at a loss, and the chairman said that he was going to England to consult an expert as to a change of policy. He would also take advice as to the purchase of new steamers. A "Hindu shareholder: For God's sake, don't purchase any more new steamers The chairman, assarod the shareholders thad the directors would exercise great caution in this respect.
