A list of sixty-six candi- dates for admission was considered, the whole of whom were elected, bringing the present strength of the school at. Bushey up to 400, apart from the 383 enjoying the benefits of out education att different schools throughout the country.

In the afternoon meeting was held st: the Manion House when the Lord Mayor, as treasurer of the institution, the arplained the work and prospects of Freemasons' Hospital and Masonic Nurs Found ing Homy to delegates from the ing Lodges-lodges which have contributed a hundred gainess or more to its funds. £30,000 had been scumulated towards an endowment fund. It was desired to raise such amount as would produts a yearly income of £3,000. Proposed contributions from patients would render the nursing home self-supporting and enable the forty beds at the hospital in Fullhan-road, Londen to be fully occupied. Already there were Lodges, and it was hoped

His lordship was con- vinced this if the lodges of the country. would give the scheme their active sup port a fourth Masonic charity would re sult without any necessity for an annual tbe appeal to the Order. Lord Ampthill, Fro Grand Master, submitted a resol tion expressing approval of the proposal to convert the existing hospital in the Fulbam-road, Chelsea, into a permanent hospital and nursing home for the use of tha orafe and members of their families. Sir Arthur Stanley, who seconded the resolution, was glad of the opportunity, hased on his experience with the Red Cross, to compliment the hospital on the splended work done, both in the Fulham road house at the Bishop of London's Palace, and elsewhere. There had been over 1,700 voluntary hospitals in the coun-, try, of which he had had experience; none had been more efficient than those mad- aged by the Freemasons, none more He gave very in. economically worked teresting details as to cost of working, and urged that at lonas £70,000 should be raised as an endoyment for the hospital
