His Lordship, samining-up, said that if the evidence for the prosecution was to bo believed, it was extraordinary that the prisoner, having attempted a robbery and run away when police-whistles were blown, should have gone to drink tea in a shop a minute's walk from the house He had entered. If all the robbers enter- ed the shop it was strange that only the prisoner, out of five men, was arrested. On the other hand, there was the very emphatic evidence of identiñcation given by Abdul Karim and his wife.
