November 13th, 1918. The Civil on Governor of Kwangtung Province asked for the surrender of the prisoner in a letter, dated April 19th, 1919. to the British Consul-General in Canton.

The applicant naked for his discharge on the grounds (1) that the Chinese Extradi tion Ordinance of 1880 was only made for the examination and the surrender on one extradition crime, whereas in the pre sent case there were several charges on which he was examined and committed; (2) that he was committed on charges in support of which, though he had piended not guilty," no evidence whatever was adduced.

'MOTOR-GAR ACCIDENTS.
