Recond engineer of the Sai Sang, was charged, at the instance of Mr. Simpson, the master, with having unlaw fully absented himself from the ship, without leave. at 7 p.m., on April 9th.
Capt Simpson said that on the morn ing of April 10th the Chief Engineer reported to him that defendant had gon ashore without permission, leaving the ship without na sngineer.
