It is not generally known that the new Knight was instrumental in establishing peace and good order at Canton during the revolution of 1911. In recognition of his services in that connection the late Pre- sident Yuan Shib-kai bestowed on him the Third Class Order of Chao

In 1908 Bir Boshan Wei Yuk was created a Companion of the Most Distin- guished Order of St. Michael and St. George.
