HONGKONG'S STORM SIGNALS

PA NEW CODE.

New local and non-local storm signals codes were introduced at Hongkong July 1st, 1917, in place of the old Local Code and the China Coast Code.

The principal change in the Local Code Ats that the new signals will show the direction from which the gale is expected, whereas the old signals showed the post- tion of the typhoon. The Istter will be indicated, as, beretofore, by the non-local signals. The new Local Code is given
