The Greek occupation of Mount Beles permits the Greeks to descend into the Talley of the Strumnitza' and thereby cut off the Bulgarian retreat by this.route.

The Greek and British forces are approaching Rupel Pass, the occupation of which would also cut off the Bulgarian retreat on the Struma front by the main road over the Kresta Pass. This is a repetition of the operations carried out ́ in 1913 by the Greek and Serbiana against the Bulgarians.
