One of the most interesting matches of the season takes place this afternoon, when the Hongkong Defence Corps meet the Royal Engineers in the United Ber- vices Losgue.. The Corps are turning out a team that appears to be the strongest they have fielded this year, and a great struggle is certain. A win for the civilians will probably give them the league, sa, in that event, the soldiers will have to defeat the Navy and B.GA. to gain a re-play, and both these teams at. full strength are formidable opponents. On the other hand, a win for the sappers Uwill make them feel very safe, ins they
the only require one point out of a poa sible four to become champions. the defence of the Corps is particularly strong, and it is exceedingly doubtfulAll if the Engineers will get past McCubbin and Stalker, even if they beat the Corps halves. As the RE. defence, also, is pretty sound, a very probable result is a draw, in which case the league will still be fairly open, with the possibilify that the Defence Corps and the R.E. may have to meet again finally to decide the cham-17; pionship.
