10th January, 1918, Sin.--I have the honour to acknow ledge the receipt of Mr. Sovara's telegram of the 13th December reporting that a sum of £10,000 had been voted by the Government of Hongkong for the relief of sufferers in the Halifax disaster and to inform you that I communicated the message embodied therein to the Governor General of Canada and I have instructed the Crown Agents for the Colonies to pay this amount to the High Commissioner for Canada,
