After His Excellency the Chancellor has taken his Fat and declared the Con gregation open, the University Authen will be played by the Band of the Middle- sex Regiment. The Vice-Chancellor will then present the candidates for Honorary Degrees, and the Graduates in Medicine, Engineering and Arts will be presented by tim Deans of their Faculties.

The Honorary Graduates will each make a short speech and the Chancellor

The Rev. T. W. Pearce came out to Canton for the London Missionary Society in 1879 and remained there until 1893, when he was transferred to Hongkong. He was Acting Inspecter of Schools 1898-1900, and an examiner at Queen's College 1897-8. He was appointed s ember of the Committee on Interpreta- tion, 1899-1900, and to the Board of Fixaminers in Chinese in 1897. When thei Chamber of Commerce Language School was started his knowledge of Chinese at ungo indicated him as its end.
