LONDON, September 25th. London was startled at eight o'clock last evening by an outburst of anti-air craft gunfire, the sounds of which, and bomb.dropping, showed that the attack was over a widespread area. The warning was promptly given and people sought cover in the tubes, which were crowded. The gunfire continued intermittently for one and a half hours. Searchlights wore cat active.
