HONGKONG MAGISTRACT. INLAWFUL POSSESSION,

A Chinese, employed as a "boy board the ss, Empress of Japas, was found by the Indian watchman at Hung hum Dooks with 180 rounds of revolver ammunition in his possession. He could give no reasonable explanation of its presence in his bookot, and yesterday, Mr. Melbourne fitted in $75, and order. ed the ammunition to be confiscated.

DESTRUCTIVE GOATS.

An Indian was charged before Mr. Wood with allowing a number of goats belonging him to stray on a plantation at Chungshian. A Chinese constable said there was a lot of damage being done by goats in the plantation in that district. In this instance, he thought there were from ten to a dozen young trees damaged.

The Magistrate said he would like to have a report of the exact amount of damage done before going further, and adjourned the case until Thursday in
