POST OFFICE NOTICE

THE HONGKONG DAILY PRESS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 16TH 1917.

The new regulations adopted by the French Customs insist that esndersof parcels addressed to France, Corsica and Algeria must fill in the columns of the regular Customs Declaration particularly and exactly, omitting acne of the headings comprised therein.

It is furthermore absolutely necessary to show in the aforesaid declaration

(1) The full name and address of the addressee.

(2) A 8 ütement us to whether the contents are intended for State supplies or not,

The public are informed that the undermentioned articles are prohibited from importation into the United Kingdom either by letter post or by parcel post :--

Gold manufactured or unmanufactured including Gold Coin and articles consisting partly of or containing gold,

All manufactures of Silver other that Silver Watches and Silver Watch Cases; Jewellery of any description.

Letters and Parcels containing such articles cannot therefore be accepted for transmission by the Post Office.

Particulars of outgoing and incoming Mails, other than those shown below, will not be advertised in future.

The Post Office will forward sli correspoalenos posted by the fastest routes.

Correspondence addressed to enemy subjecta in China, Siam, Liberia, Portuguese East Africa, Persia and Morocco cannot be transmitted.

The Services to Germany, Austria, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire are suspended.
