VANTAN GAMBLING AT KINGCHOW.

The Civil Governor's Yamen yesterday received a telegram from the officials at Kingchow stating that General Lung Chai Kwong has granted the merchants permission to resume fantan gambling in order to obtain funds. Immediately on receipt of this telegram, the Civil Governor telegraphed instructions to the officers in Kingchow to inquire throngbly into the matter, for if the allegation ba found to be true he will take definite steps to deal with it, as he considers that General Lung's reported action is abac lutely illegal.

WEDDING AT NANKING. The wedding of Miss Muriel P. W. Molland, of Nanking, and Mr. Paul Jernigan, manager for the Standard Oil Co., at Ningpo, took place in the Christian Advent Mission Church, Non- king, on December 18th.
