On the Club ground at Happy Valley on Saturday the Club had their fret trial match and, analysing the game, one is bound to admit that so far there is nothing to show that the Club is justified running two teams. Certainly there were very few of the last year's first team out, Black Chassele, McCubbin, Kogefa, and Stalker, and several others for some reason or other not turning out. Of what might be called the new men, only Balaton, Dickie, Goldenberg and Parves appeared likely to make any show in a First League match, and of these the two latter are light and un- suited for any game that might develop into the rough-and-tumble variety the play itself there is little to be said; Ralston did well at half, playing a hard. bustling game throughout, whila Gold- enberg displayed some neat play on the

The Police and the Civil Service met felt wing. Dickie and Bond also played in a friendly game on the Police ground well in the rear division, and should on Saturday, when, after a most exciting make capable reserves for the First contest, the Police won by the narrow League team.
