Mr. Justice Hazeland (Acting Paisne Judge) delivered judgment yesterday in the action in which the Po Wah Com- pany, antimony ore merchants, of 159, Queen's Read, Hongkong, sued the Tak King Minnig Co., 67, Jervois Street, claiming 3213,31, an amount alleged to have been overpaid to the defendants under a contract.
Five Chinese shop-keepers were suzu-
moned by Inspector Terrett, for using scales which defrauded the purchaser. In one case the fraud was perpetrated with a piece of lead, while another of the de- fendants had adopted the cash method. These two were fined 830 each, and the other defendants were hued 323, 820 and $15-respectively.
TOM GUNN ARRESTED.
FAMOUS CHINESE AVIATOR DETAINED AT HONGKONG,
Late on Thursday evening a number of detectives of the Hongkong Police force arrested Tom Gunn, the famous Chinese aviator, un a warrant, the contents of which cannot be divulged.
