WHY NOT A LOCAL EXHIBITION.
[TO THE EDITOR OF THE "HONGKONG DAILY PRESS."]
SIR,-Having read mite a tot lately about how trade should be pushed now that we practically have the market to ourselves, might I humbly suggest a plan that, in my opinion, would help to make a ado boom for our opentry and, inciden. tally, be a great help to the Colony !
The plan I would suggest is, that au Industrial Exhibition be opened, say, at Howloon on the large piece of ground beside the Railway Station.
Manufacturers of all classes should be written to and asked to bring their machinery and goods with demonstraters to show the working, etc., of the differ ent exhibits and catalogues should be printed in, say, Chinese, Malay, Japanese Bad English.
