OUR LONDON LETTER.

[FROM CUS OWN COERESPONDENT. ]

LONDON, September 15th. THE WAE AS A LEVELLER. How much of a levolier this way has been may be judged from a story told by an officer, back with a batch of wounded from the front. A kindly-lance corporal of the R.A. M.C., he says, bound up his injuries, bathed his feet nad mado a careful list of his kit, handing a duplicate of it to him to keep for checking purposes. Along came a sergeant who shouted Don't for get you're down to meet them two German prisoners this afternoon, Crawford." The Lance-corporal replied, as to the nonuer barn, "All right, sir." The officer under treatment was struck by the efficiency and He cheerfulness of the R.A.M.C. man.
