The exhibition put up by the Police

was es weak and modicere as has been seen from them this season. In the first part of the game the It. E. literally played with them, their forwards absolutely be wildering the Police defenders with the quickness and machine-like precision of | Hò. ↑ their passing. Try they might Clarke and his helpers could not stem the tide of their opponents' aggression, and had the soldiers shot more frequently instead of carrying their combination to the extreme, the Police would probably have been several goals down. As it was, Townsend, who is always waiting To snap up any likely chance, caught the ball beau tifully and beat Swan within a very short time of the start. Later he smashed the leather against the upright, and Horton had hard lines with a sharp shot that struck the under side of the horizontal. The Police, improved as the game pro greased, but their attempts at collabora tion never met with the success achieved by the R.E. They had the ball time and oft in the R.E. territory, but they obstar ately refused to give Rogers a chance to show his skill, and the B.E. keeper scart The prize which formed z ly had a difficult shot to deal with from handsome collection of silverware, in start to finish His visd-vis, ou the con
