For the second prize Mrs ground yesterday and we just on time Ram and Mr. E. V. D. Patr, and Com by a most substantial margin. The pander and Mrs. Boucher tic with 42, Garrison's first three wickets went down and on the play-off the latter pair won, somewhat cheaply, Then Major Robert-Scores:- son and A. A. Claxton-whose qualifica tion for appearing in the Garrison XI. was stated to be that he was a frequent wearer of khakhi were partners, and runs came freely. Claxton, especially, who made a re-appearance after four months absence, treated the bowling to some Herculean hitting. He passed the contury in quite a short time, and was not dismissed until he had ccored 120.
This total included seven 8's and thirteen 4. Major Bowen also made a most pro mising attempt to secure a century, his Di being obtained as the result of sound batting, which, like Claxton's, gave no "lives." When 335 had been compiled
