Mr. A. J. Lindberg

Much had been expected of the encoun-Mr. R. D. Harvey's Fund ter between the two clover Chinese combinations, Lam Long and Confu- cians, on the Military ground at Happy Valley on Saturday, and in this case anticipation was more than roalised A botter game of clean, clever football has not been seen in Hongkong this season, while for the excellent footwork it pro: duced one would have to go back & considerably longer period to find its parallel. The two teams are keen rivals, with a rivalry that extends to the individual player, and, the game WAH important in ite bearing on the League Championship. The play throughout was highly exciting, and it was witnessed by one of the largest crowds seen at Happy Valley this season. Showing a greater adaptability, a greater willingness to it-which its advantago in weight enabled it to do successfully and com- bining splendidly, the Lam Long was t the more dangerous of the two aggregations. and their thrustful. forwards soon obtained their reward. A well-placed shot from the left wing was knocked down by the Confuciane keeper, but another opposing forward pounced upon it and rammed it home. A second point was not long In coming Lung Vùng

Thi a very clever inside man, running" through on his own and scoring. The Confucian forwards exhibited somě⠀⠀⠀ extremely pretty movements on occasions, but they lacked the ability to push them to a successful issue. The two goals against them did not daunt their spirits, and the tried very hard. In the end the Lam Leong won by three goals to one. Mr. F. W. Kager held the whistle, and had little difficulty with the players, the game being very clean.
